What smart phone apps do you use?

I just recently received my first smart phone. I love it! I have an iPhone 6.

There are so many apps to choose from, I am not sure which apps to add to my phone.

What apps do you use? Maybe you can also tell me which apps you have that you don't use so that I will know to avoid them.

Thanks so much.

Sorry, I still use what I call my dumb dumb phone. Much easier to text on a flip phone. I would probably put JAF and a site to calculate yardage. Have fun with your new toy.

I have a few apps on my iPad that I use but some are harder on an iPhone. I have Missouri Star Quilt co and a few games. I like Words with friends, Best Fiends, Farm Heroes, Candy Crush and a few others.

If you eat out, an app that is recent, is "What the Health", it gives restaurants health codes and violations. My family has had a great time with the "TV food Maps" app that gives out the restaurants that have appeared in tv programs. Game apps that I love are a Sudoku app and the Cookie Crunch app. I also use the Alarm clock app alot! When I'm sewing and need to get ready for something, I set an alarm and use it to remind me to stop sewing.

The self added apps I use most on my iPhone are flashlight, the weather channel, Facebook, iSpreadsheet, Paypal, and some games. Most of the apps I use are ones already included - safari, maps, iBooks, notes.

Congratulations!

I have had my iPhone 5S for about 14 months now and I love it. The app I use the most of is the NKJV Holy Bible app for following my pastor on Sundays. It is an easy application to use. I also use CCTC app for on a daily basis for really great audio Bible studies, the Weather app and Craftsy for sewing classes. I can set my iPhone near my sewing machine and follow a class on there in my home using my wifi connection. For the most part I use wifi and don't burn up data usage. I put off buying a smart phone because I didn't think I needed it but I use it constantly everyday.

The best thing is that I can write a note in the notes section and KNOW where it is when I need to refer to it. I keep a running Grocery List on there. I also have a note titled Crafts so I can write down what items I hear about which pertain to sewing, quilting or crafts. Have fun.

Just keep in mind that if you add an app and you don't like it, it's easy to delete, and it's easy to add again down the road if you change your mind. Don't worry and just have fun with it!

I've only downloaded free apps. The ones I like are Quilt Shops (type in a town and it finds shops); QuiltingCalc (figures out yardage); QuiltSandwich(lots of quilt info); Joann (in case I forget my coupons); RetailMeNot (again in case I forget my coupons); and about 4 weather reporting sites because I'm a weather junkie. A few others I've tried and like Willferg said, if you don't like them, remove them.

It really depends on what you like.

The apps I use most are: (1) the one from my bank that allows me to deposit checks from home (has me take photos of both sides of the check). Saves me trips to the bank. (2) the Walmart savingscatcher app. I take a photo of the QR code on the sales slip when I get home and it checks for savings at other stores on items I bought, giving me any difference. Also, it allows me to throw away the receipt as I have a copy in my phone if I ever need to return something. (3) free games. The ones I use most are Castle Story, Dragon Story, and Solitaire. (4) Wunderlist. My shopping list for each store is in my phone.

I always read the reviews in the app store before making a decision to get an app. I noticed one app that had 5-star reviews up until December of last year, at which point it went to 1-star reviews because of a buggy update. Check out the "favorites" list too.

i definitely use the apps for my bank accounts... i love depositing checks without going to the bank.
i have a game, Dots, to use on the few occasions that i get bored somewhere.
and, after 3 years, i have figured out how to use Google maps for my GPS ... a little slow on that!
