The spring on a curling iron is exactly like that spring.

It looks to me like the spring that has broken on several of my curling irons!

It is a spring of some sort. Now where it came from??? Same shape as the one that popped out of my paper punch, but doesn't look as big as that one.

If you have a good service guy, he would be able to tell you

Your posting made me smile as it reminded me of the classic cartoon of a handyman husband taking apart something to fix it and getting it back together and having an assortment of parts that didn't make it back into the thing.
;)

Well, I am the wife who takes things apart and has all these leftovers. Here is a picture of some of them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kitsy...it looks to me like it's a spring that goes inside of a clamp, like a clip on lamp, or something similar.
I know it won't help you now with your bobbin winder, but in the future take pics of your projects as you're taking them apart, that way if you get lost, you can look at the pics and see how it goes back together!
Also..use masking tape to tape the screws to the hole they go in, so when it's time, you don't have to guess which scew gows where.
