I don't know what "vintage" has to be, but if your fabric is just 35" to 38" wide, it is pretty old! :)

Look it up in the dictionary. Vintage has come to mean a lot of things more than just grapes and wine making. My DH comes from a long line of Germans........and he is very knowledgeable and vintage. LOL However, the wine making has stopped in his family. :)

According to this dictionary, vintage as a noun refers to wine and wine making, but as an adjective it can refer to almost anything.

Unless you can get someone who is certified in some way to give you a better definition, call it vintage fabric and tell the potential buy from what era it came. If s/he wants it, well and good, if not, let someone esle buy it. froggyintexas |

I looked at your thread last night and didn't even notice or care whether it was "true vintage" or not. To me anything over 30 years old is vintage. We all have our own opinions. People need to get over themselves.
Just go ahead and offer your fabric for trade and if they don't like it, someone might. |
Again, all fabric at least 50 years old is considered ANTIQUE in fabric arts, including quilts.
