So I have this quilt for a LQS that NEEDS to be quilted. I have it 1/3 done. DH left last weekend for a week of fishing. I've been having headaches -- ignored them, but Thursday nite I got scared. I had chills so bad for 45 minutes that I thought I'd break my jaws I was chattering so bad. Called Doctor on Friday and went in. She says I'm having migraines.....gave me a shot and some meds. By the time I got home, I crawled in bed and went to sleep. (now you know that the quilt isn't getting done very fast) The cats were outside!!!!! At 10:45 I got a call from my neighbor. Seems one of my cats got tangled with her visiting son's dog. OH NO! I ran over there. Dasher was under their PU, hiding behing the wheel. I got him out and he was bleeding. I couldn't drive -- meds making me woozy and dizzy!!! I took him to emergency vet 35 miles away this morning. He's lost or hurt the claws on all 4 paws! Poor little guy! They gave him a shot for pain, some pain meds and antibiotics. I feel SO bad for him!!!!
Then DH called at 11:00 and said "Hi honey -- did you have a great week without me?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

So sorry about your HA's and the poor kitty. I bet he was so happy when you rescued him. Hope he heals well and that you get feeling better as well.

What a week indeed!!! I hope you and your cat will soon be back in good shape.
As for the migraines, go up to SEARCH at the top of the page and look for Migraines. There is a long series of comments on them, from me also, since I've suffered for many years with them. There's lots of help there, hope something will catch your eye and be helpful. But first of all, when you feel one coming on, start a diary of what you ate, starting about 3 days before. Everything you ate and drank, if you were tired or angry, etc. Soon you should begin to see a pattern which will help avoid such things. |
Sorry to read about your little fur ball. Having suffered with migraines since I was 12 years old I can relate to your pain. In my case, it worked out that mine is hereditary. My youngest girl also has them.
Do not drive whilst under medication as I am sure your doctor mentioned. |

BIG HUGS for you both.

here's hoping you can get rid of them without too much meds. Take care and I know hard to do--take breaks from the machine.

hope you feel better soon and that kitty heals too

A week like that is like a tooth ache. When it's over, you feel SO much better.
In younger days I had migraines. I started keeping track of occurrences and found the majority were during menses AND an approaching storm system (low air pressure). Wasn't food at all. Maybe they weren't migraines but they were-stay-home-in-the-dark miserable. One e.n.t. doc recommended cold packs--the cold caused the blood vessels to open--and that helped a good bit. Sad about your cat. Hope you both are feeling better. |
I used to go to an Osteopathic Doctor(DO). He was also a naturapathic doctor. He had me avoid certain foods and take Magnesium Cloride by Alta. You can get it at some health food stores. It always works better than any migraine Rx I ever took. I would get the migraine back even after I had taken all the migraine Rx that was allowed.
You can take 4 of Magnesium Cloride at the onset of the migraine and if it didn't go away within 15-20 minutes, you can take 4 more. When I take that, the migraine goes away. |
Migraines - ouch. Had one today - finally got rid of it. I wanted to do some quilting but was not able to. Hopefully tomorrow. Glad your feeling better and hoping your cat is on the mend.

Thanks nonymac. Yes, the meds have helped a LOT! Getting housework done!!!! And the cat acts as though nothing happened. Amazing how fast he's recovered --- though he IS more spoiled now!!!!
|
I used to have migrains really bad, so I can certainly sympathize with you. Glad kitty is doing okay, nothing wrong with spoiling them.

I've had migraines all my life. Stress, and food alergies trigger them. For me, raisins, wine and any spicy food along with cheese, chocolate and eggs. Bummer...all the good stuff. Stangely enough, those are the first things that I crave when I get a really bad headache. I've found that along with my drugs, that a cold pack and quiet dark room works wonders, eventually. Hope you feel better real soon. Kitty too.

aaaaahhhhhhh... I'm sorry... that was a tough few days... you and your poor kitty... I hope you are feeling better... you and your kitty need to snuggle under the covers together for a while and let the rest of the world go by for a bit...

It's a new week, fresh start, and enjoy.
