Izaquilter 02-16-2011 06:21 PM

Suzie Q by my dad & Blondie by all my uncles. Suz was just a nick name he always called me & I don't know why. As he was walking me down the isle he said "Well Suz looks like here comes the bride" & he started crying. Blondie was cuz I had blonde, blonde hair when I was little & because of the cartoon character I guess!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 02-16-2011 06:21 PM

Some folks called me Jellybean because my middle name is Jennibee. One of my uncles still calls me that.

Chasing Hawk 02-16-2011 06:23 PM

My Aunt called me Nancy, and I don't know why....lol
That isn't my name.

My brother called me Queen of Sheba and my Dad called me a Primadonna.

In all fairness when he wasn't mad at me he called me Girlie.

mollymct 02-16-2011 06:25 PM

My mom tends to call me "Babe", my dad called me "Tummy" when I was a kid but sweetly gave it up when I thought I might be sensitive about that kind of nickname (I'm not, but he's a good dad!). Now he calls me "Sis"

Up North 02-16-2011 06:27 PM

sueisallaboutquilts 02-16-2011 06:37 PM

My Mom and Dad always called me Suebabe, my sister had a funny name for me- goots- and she still calls me that once in awhile- it's really cute to hear her say it. Most of the fam still calls me Susie :)

KatFish 02-16-2011 06:41 PM

My Dad called me Silkie Jane, and my Mom called my Lucy Jane, although Jane is not part of my name. Grandpa called me Worry Wart. My brothers called me Runt because I was the shortest one in the family.

hazeljane 02-16-2011 06:41 PM

My father still calls me Pegeen when he's in a sappy mood. Ugh!

missgigglewings 02-16-2011 06:41 PM

melslove 02-16-2011 06:56 PM

My aunt always called me "Lisa Jane" :) Gosh i miss her :-( She was my favorite aunt.

sandraa 02-16-2011 07:12 PM

My dad called me Sandysue and cousins called me stick cause I was so skinny. I wish someone would call me stick now, but fat chance of that.

Margie 02-16-2011 07:19 PM

kwhite 02-16-2011 07:21 PM

I was called ugly and stupid. That was many years ago and in a world far far away.

Carron 02-16-2011 07:23 PM

My aunts and uncles would call me "carrot top" (of course because of the red hair)...I would get so upset with them and promptly reply that tops of carrots were green and I didn't have green hair. That comment never did stop them from continueing with that stupid name.

cctx. 02-16-2011 07:24 PM

My uncles/cousins and mom called me Cissie, my grandma called me by my real name (because she named me). My great grandma called me Dutch.

Well, you certinlly don't appear to be ugly and if you are a member of this board, that proves just how smart you really are.

frugalfabrics 02-16-2011 07:27 PM

when I was little, my family called me "blackie" because my eyes were so dark.

now I'm called "turtle" because I have a slow and steady pace...and I don't speed up for anything!

Daddy called me Sugah when I was young. He persists in calling me Janet though I've answered to, and only used, Jan for 50 years, even changed it legally 12 years ago.

Mother still often calls me RoColClayt...JAN! Goes through all the siblinds names before she gets to mine. I was glad to get to first grade and find my name was actually short enough to learn to write easily!

My daughter born and raised in Alabama calls me Mutti; the other daughter, born and raised in Germany, calls me Mom.....go figure.

My ex always called me a generic-sounding Honey. I often wondered if he even remembered my real name.

I am so very sorry for that burden you've carried. You are quite beautiful, you know, and likely very smart. I think you should be called Friend. :)

DogHouseMom 02-16-2011 07:34 PM

When I was young I couldn't say my whole last name so I shortened it to just the last two syllables - Eppe (pronounded Eppie). My Aunt used to call me Susie Eppie. To this day she is the ONLY person ever allowed to get away with calling me "Susie" anything more than once.

Strangely enough, my family all call me Susan and my friends all call me Sue. It was never planned, it just happened that way. I've never heard my best friend call me Susan. Never.

Funny thing, same with me. Certain people call me Sue, Susie (fam) and Susan. I could never figure it out but it is what it is. I've been called worse hahaha

I think your childhood name should have been precious. You look like a "precious" to me. Or maybe we'll even shorten it to Presh. You are adorable and you needed a sweet nickname.

Grammy o'5 02-16-2011 07:44 PM

My dad calls me "Punkin", my late MIL called me "Little Bit" because I'm short. My best friend in Albuq calls me "Leetle", another reference to being short. Oh well.

sak658 02-16-2011 07:45 PM

Well I'll tell you mine when I was very little. Droopy Drawers, cause my diaper was always drooping. Guess I outgrew that. My dad had a nickname for all his kids but me. Never gave me one, my grandma called me Ann, the only one to do that, which is my middle name, my grandpa called me Shelly. Which is close to Shirley, I guess. That's all I remember..

lynnie k 02-16-2011 07:55 PM

when I was younger baby brother called me Deda he couldn't say Linda. I couldn't wait until he could say my name.years later my other brother had a son and calls me Deda Thought it was over but no way. He still call me aunt Deda. But the best name I have is from my GD. When my daughter would bring her over to my house she would say to her we are going to grammys YEAH now she thinks my name is grammy yeah I love this name

I saw this and couldn't believe what I was reading. My dad called me Suzie Q and everyone in the neighborhood called me Blondie. My hair was really blonde almost white. My middle name is Suzzett so that is where the Suzie Q came from.
