she doesn't have fleas , she has been bathed in a shampoo that is suppose to make her hair soft she has been checked for fleas bugs and we can't find anything that would cause an allergic reaction but she just constantly scratches

I assume your dog goes outside periodically during the day? I think your doggie may be alllergic to grass! Our dear black lab Murphy scratched himself and licked his paws until they bled.. we took him to the vet and found out he was allergic to grass. He was on allergy medication until he passed away 8 yrs later.

Our male dog is allergic to wheat, corn, barley, beef and fleas. Just one bite sends him in to a scratching frenzy (like people allergic to mosquito's). Also, allergic to pine needles---no more "duty calls" near the pines. We feed him venison and potato dog food and it is fine ---unless someone, "kindheartedly" feeds him a piece of bread, or cookie. and then we're back to square one. Usually takes about a week to calm the scratching.

It very well could be allergies, but as a USED to be vet tech, TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET BEFORE ADMINISTERING MEDICATIONS!

Having said that, dogs should only be bathed TWICE a year. Unless they get into something really nasty or the vet says otherwise. Especially if your dog is a lab or another type of water dog. Bathing too frequently causes the dry skin. If your dog has a place they can roll in dry dirt, this will help with the bad smell most people complain about.

She could be allergic to grass. Our Yorkie was scratching all the time and we could never find a flea. We gave her benadryle. Then we put her on Comfortis it stopped her scratching and also killed the fleas.
There are so many thing it can be when our loved pet is scratching. It could be the corn in there dog food. I hope you find out what the problem is.

My parents have 2 dogs that scratch constantly and chew their feet. Dr says it is the pollen on the ground. They take Benadryl but not enough, it appears.

My little dog developed yeast infections in her ears and she was also licking her paws and had them discolored. Her thyroid was fine and our vet tried everything for her. Then he sent us to a specialist that did different blood tests and she's highly allergic to dust mites and storage mites. We'd never heard of storage mites and were told that they're in bags and boxes of dry food/snacks, etc. Even though we were feeding her good stuff we were giving her the storage mites with it. Now she's on a prescription rabbit and potato canned food diet and for a treat she gets some baked sweet potato or cut up raw carrots. She loves getting "treats" but it's actually part of her diet too. We also have to give her a shot every week. Thankfully she can go outside because she was fine with grass and pollen.

We had our dog for little over 3 years now and the itching started last year and it was really bad, so we took him to the vet but he said he didn't have flees but gave him and antibiotic shot for bacteria he said and worked like magic with 2 days. He completely stopped itching. This year he started itching again and the only thing we changed was he water dispenser from last year. We got the cooler shape one with the plastic base so my son thought about it and threw that away and put a glass plate and the itching decreased a lot. I have no idea why but i am happy that it helped.

My last pup had allergies and I had to give him a dose of benedril everyday during the months of may to October

I read a post here some months ago about wheat flour in the pet food. My daughter has two dogs that scratched all the time and, like you, she had tried everything to help them. I told her about the wheat thing and she adjusted her pet food - NO MORE SCRATCHING!!! Don't know what brand of food she uses but it has no wheat in it.
