Mine's a hymn; The Old Rugged Cross, because I remember my mom singing it all the time when I was a small child. She couldn't carry a tune in a bucket with a lid, but I miss her song so much. Funny thing, her parrot sang it in the same off-key way.
|
You are my kind - Carlos Santana & Seal. Love the lyrics and makes me want to dance.
And have to add In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. And (sorry <g>) the acoustic version of Hotel California. |
I have so many favorites, but if I had to pick one which is an 'oldie', it would be "An Affair to Remember." The movie, same name, starred Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr a beautiful love story. I just loved Cary Grant, he was so handsome.
|
This is a really hard question. I could say all of the above. These are some great songs. My favorite tends to change with what day you ask. Right now it would be anything by Jack Johnson or Lecrae.
|
I have a few favorites, just because they can make me smile: Paradise by the dashboard lights (Meatloaf), Need you now (Lady Antebellum), ANYTHING from the Eagles, Queen, Michael Buble and Chicago. And I just can't forget Disco ... love that era.

Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino.
My late DH and I would go after work up 99 highway to the little round rock restaurant called Blueberry Hill. We would sit back in a dark and almost hidden booth and eat blueberry pie, listen to Fats Domino on the juke box, and whisper sweet nothings to each other. Both DH and the restaurant are gone now, both just sweet memories Lovely song and beautiful memories. |
Back Home Again-John Denver
|
"True Love" by Cole Porter and sung by Bing Crosby in the musical "High Society" with Grace Kelly. Loved it since I was 18 months and now at 55 still my favorite.

That being said "Amazing Grace" will always bring me to tears. My best friend had picked this song for her funeral. She died 6 months after being shot by her husband. She's been gone 17 years now and I still miss her. |
"Second Ave" by Tim Moore. It's a song I heard maybe two times on the radio years ago fell in love with it and never heard it again. I was finally able to find it on a cd of 70's love songs. If you're a sucker for unrequited love songs, I think you'll like this.
