Queensryche -- Silent Lucidity

Don't know why I like it so much. I really like the instrumental parts.

Ramona Byrd 04-15-2011 04:41 PM

Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino.

My late DH and I would go after work up 99 highway to the little round rock restaurant called Blueberry Hill. We would sit back in a dark and almost hidden booth and eat blueberry pie, listen to Fats Domino on the juke box, and whisper sweet nothings to each other.

Both DH and the restaurant are gone now, both just sweet memories.

Go Rest High on That Mountian, by Vince Gill, I just love that song, I love the words to it and its meaning. Has anyone else heard it and really listen to the words? Makes me have chill bumps.

The Dance by Garth Brooks. I remember the day the my then 16 year old son had me listen to it. I didn't know who Garth was. I became a fan that minute. Great memories of the next two years of the music playing and all of us at several Garth concerts.

happymrs 04-15-2011 05:20 PM

I hope you dance by Lee Ann Womack, My daughter sang this for her HS graduation (I'm proud to say she got a standing ovation!!) and I think it says it all for new grads just starting out in the world.:)

shawnan 04-15-2011 06:10 PM

I see some very good songs here that I do love also - Time in a Bottle, Go Rest High on that Mountain, but my all-time favorite is:

Pieces of April by 3 Dog Night. The story for me has to do with the loss of a child.

Imagine by John Lennon. Just listening to this song makes me think we can all make the world a better place if we try. Yes, you can say I'm a dreamer!

Ah yes, dreamer, I remember that one!

genafan201 04-15-2011 06:45 PM

Depends on what's playing on my ipod at the moment...

I'm a "button pusher" when driving my car. A song comes on, and I just have to push the button to see if there's any other songs on any other stations I like better. So, when I loaded my I-pod, the criteria was...Would I listen to this whole song, or push the button? Listen to the whole thing - it's on the ipod...hope for something better, not so much.

That said...ANYTHING by Jimmy Buffett (my all time favorite singer) has a song "I have found me a home"...that's probably my all time favorite song.

sueisallaboutquilts 04-15-2011 06:48 PM

I can't possibly choose only one song!! :D:D

Kitsie 04-15-2011 07:15 PM

"Imagine" by John Lennon. It's my philosophy of life.

Thanks for the memory of Torville & Dean!!

svenskaflicka1 04-15-2011 10:23 PM

"you just might be the one"--the monkees

it was playing on the radio, back in 1967, when then-boyfriend-now-hubby turned to me and sang along with it, and declared it "our song".

second favorite? "i only have eyes for you"--the flamingos, just because...

You won't believe this but, I just read the lyrics to this song for the first time. I googled it. I never knew what it meant. My DH and I have only ever heard the music without the lyrics. It is beautiful music and has always meant "Everlasting Love to us." Because of that, I will chose to forget the lyrics and continue to love the beautiful music for the many many years we have left together to continue to love each other. Boy one just never knows and that shows that sometimes ignorance can be bliss. :) :) :)

Crystal Ball by Styx. It's funny, I sure can tell those posts who are my age. LOL

clynns 04-16-2011 02:10 AM

When there are so many good songs from the 70's and 80's I'd have to add:
Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations
Free Bird by Lynard Skynard
I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar
Go Rest High on the Mountain by Vince Gill
Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet

So many good ones. Now you've gone and done it. I'm gonna wake up the house at 6:10 am playing oldies.
