Love it! DH and I always say that when we get old, we are going to go spend a month with each kid (we have 10 between us) and we were going eat all their food; not clean up after ourselves, tear up their furniture, leave trash everywhere, not rinse off our dishes, etc etc etc just for paybacks lol. They insist they will not answer their doors when we show up lol. I am training the youngest (5) to be the one to take care of us when we are old because he's probably the only one who will lol.

I always told my son this is what I was going to do to him --PAY BACK-but I guess I won't have to,his 3 daughters are such sweet revenge..I love it

Gosh! I didn't see this as sad at all, as an earlier poster stated. I saw this as a reminder of a common experience most of us have shared, looking back at the 'good old days' with humor and fondness. Would I like to go back to the days when my three were little? Probably not. But I do remember them as one of the best times of my life. My three are all adults and great people. We frequently laugh about memories of events just like the ones described in this poem, and when they thank me for raising them, I just tell them to remember that when I have incontinence and Alzheimers. But sad? Never.

the best revenge on a child is the old curse-"may you have children just like you!"
Then sit back and watch it come true.:D |
I recently reminded my oldest son...what I wished on him years ago. He is going to be married to a lovely lady who has two girls...one 15 the other 5 years old. Just think....he will get to "enjoy" the 2 ages at once. The 5 year old loves him, the 15 year old hates him. Hehe...the fun is just beginning...

That's too funny!

Funny how most of that is forgotten, and the memories are of snuggles and book reading and vacations. Thanks for sharing. It brought back some other memories! LOL
