The country is baking in high heat and humidity and where do we the dedicated quilters sit, under QUILTS!

Enjoy your days sewing, stitiching, quilting.

Patty Patches 08-04-2011 05:30 AM

AH.....but the ac makes it nice

jpmaroni 08-04-2011 05:31 AM

So lucky to be in NH! Hope the heat breaks soon, we all have family or friends who are suffering....

auntpiggylpn 08-04-2011 05:32 AM

I will be in a classroom, possibly dissecting a cat!! Wish I was home quilting!!!

QuiltE 08-04-2011 05:33 AM

No a/c for survival here ... though I get a lot of summer quilting done, as my sewing area is in my walk out basement. So lots of natural light, and being built into the dirt on three sides, keeps it nice and cool! When the sun reaches the glass side, drapes are pulled to keep it so.

Susie Quilter 08-04-2011 05:36 AM

Going to be about 105 degrees in the Arkansas Ozarks, but I'm sure that I will either be quilting in the AC or in front of this computer on the quilting board.
Happy quilting.

jean1941 08-04-2011 05:39 AM

Same here Susie Quilter

Mariposa 08-04-2011 05:43 AM

I'm in Washington, and it is supposed to be around 85 or 90 here today. I'll be inside with the AC, and doing some sewing and quilting!

ontheriver 08-04-2011 05:54 AM

I'll be inside in the AC today sewing and getting ready for a weekend trip.

biotechlady 08-04-2011 05:56 AM

Inside...although it is cooler today. We are to stay in the upper 80's. First time in 2 weeks. I will be quilting. I have a top to finish up. :)

INSIDE...in AC....but with grands... 2 yr old twins and a 1 yr old that has been throwing up...ughhhhhh (one of the twins and their 7 yr old brother were throwing up yesterday)

Shelbie 08-04-2011 06:15 AM

Right now it is absolutely perfect out, 20C (68F) sunny with a breeze. I am busy filling my clothesline. I have been going through closets and drawers finding many treasurers. I just found a pair of pillowcases that I embroidered when I was 15 that have never been used. I`m washing them up and plan to use them to store a couple of special quilts.

amma 08-04-2011 08:17 AM

Only 81 or so today... beautiful weather to be indoors or out :D:D:D

Murphy 08-04-2011 09:42 AM

Aren't we awesome (smile)!

chickadee_42us 08-04-2011 09:44 AM

At work and as always wishing I was home to quilt; without the job there would be no quilting so . . it's a vicious circle!

Oh and IT'S VERY HOT, predicted high 109º with a morning low of 90º - hitting that 90, hum, might need to get the sweaters out !!! JOKE.

linz83 08-04-2011 09:44 AM

Thankfully it is not too hot here in Oregon. . because i have been hand sewing a quilt and i am literaly sitting under a quilt!

its overcast so far today.

mic-pa 08-04-2011 09:48 AM

I dissected a cat in high school! We named her Bubbles-she was pregnant. The other students had fetal pigs.
I got an "A+" for my work, and was given my own dissection kit from my A & P teacher upon graduation.

I refused to name it or let my lab partners name it. It was declawed too so it had been somebody's pet at some time. . . . I won't ever have to dissect again after this class, Thank God!!!

Hi,
I live in Henderson NV. We are right next to Las Vegas. To stay cool we run a swamp cooler. It is 84 this morning at 8:30 but inside our home it is 66 degrees. It will get up to 80 inside when the sun is high in the sky but cools back into the 70's after dinner. So today, I will be in my home doing chores but the quilters union representive told me that it is in our contract that we work 20 minutes and then have a 20 minute sew break...(a little silly)
Have a sweet Friday and great adventures this weekend

Have AC house is nice and cool so great quilting weather in here with lots of big windows for natural light

mcar 08-05-2011 08:27 AM

What a summer! Looks like we might get rain. So rain, or heat and humidity, I'll be inside quilting. I have not sat outside as yet this summer due to allergies or the heat. My daughter in Maryland and her husband have not barbecued or sat outside either. Am on all my allergy meds and yet have a froggy voice today. Pollen count shows only grass as the irritant.

Chasing Hawk 08-05-2011 08:32 AM

My day will be spent detailing my truck.........

Shampooing the carpets and floor mats.
Washing the the outside of the truck.

Navy Wife 08-05-2011 08:39 AM

I will be stuck in the motorhome in the A/C. We are in Wisconsin, and I have been stuck in the "house" all summer. It was supposed to be cool up here. I can't wait to get back to VT next summer!

MelodyWB 08-05-2011 08:40 AM

I had to do the cat thing in nursing classes and did not think I could, but it is so far from looking like a real kitty you will be ok. In fact I was so fascinated by the proceedure, I did both sides instead of the one side of the cat I was required to do. Also did a hysterectomy on my lab partners cat. Only problem is I also removed it's bladder. sigh......

islandboundquilting 08-05-2011 11:27 AM

I'm in about 55-60 degrees, probably kayaking today. Wish I could share with all of you!!!

Ruby the Quilter 08-05-2011 12:09 PM

You bet! With the a/c going & under a ceiling fan, love it! Great way to beat the heat any day!

owlvamp 08-05-2011 12:18 PM

I just got back from the movies. Took the whole clan of 8 to see the movie Smurfs. It was good and the children loved it. I will buy it when it comes to DVD. But then again I loved the smurf cartoons along with the gummy bears. Where did all our good cartoons go to ?

Novice.for.now 08-05-2011 08:12 PM

I spent today ((11 hours) at the county fair and the next two days too. Looong days. My job is working with 4-H'ers and there is a whole lot of paperwork connected with the fair. Not so crazy about the heat, but love the kids.
