Well, I think it is just FABULOUS I think it is a beautiful piece of of furntiure and sure wish I lived within driving distance to go and buy it. I would pay more than $50. too.
It has been good to read and see pics of these. Have a friend that built a similar style for his wife who is now disabled but it will go to family. I can not build one or I would but cost a lot more. |
I have the same cabinet. It was offered in conjunction with Singer machines. I think it's a Singer. I still love my piece and enjoy using it. I do need a piece for the doors to clasp them together. That's the only thing wrong with mine. We bought it in the late 70's or early 80's when I bought my Singer Creative Touch. Does this give you a hint?

I saw one like it in a flea market that was there a long time and had been marked down to $50. I would have loved it but didn't have the space in my sewing room. Haven't been back in several months to see if it's still there.

Please let us know if you decide to sell it!!

In some areas you might only get a small amount but I think overall it is worth much more than 50 dollars. Keep searching the internet and check out some antique dealers even though it might not qualify as a true antique it is close and they might be able to offer you some help in pricing. It looks like it is in good shape too. If I were close to you I would for sure offer you more than 50 dollars. Where else can you buy used furniture that is in good condition these days without paying a lot of money for it. I lived in Oregon and now Alaska and when I went 2nd hand furniture shopping you would get nothing but junk for 50 dollars.

I love that cabinet! I have a big, old oak teachers desk that I set my sewing machine on. I love the space and the drawers.

if you were close to me I would make an offer on it, arkansas here

Where do you live - would be very interested in cabinet!!! I am in Missouri-
I think the one who mentioned plastic was refering to the spool holders and the compartments on the door Also wont bring as much if you dont have the supports for a machine!!! |
I hope you find a place for it in your home. It's better made than what can be purchased today for far more money, from my experience.
