Steve here, not much to tell really. I compose music, play lutes, vihuela and classical guitar, read a lot, collect books, write short stories and poetry, cook and bake anything (except croissants, ‘cause they’re an evil pain in the patootie), and um, quilt! Love my family and friends, hate my job, and look forward to retirement in a few years. At fifty-one, my life is more interesting than ever even if the body groans about it!

Here’s an example of the writing posted on my blog:

Steve--it's nice to know you're a writer. I love to write. I self published on book (topic-motherhood)--on the advice of a publisher. It paid for itself in one year. It's still selling, but locally. Another publisher wanted to take a children's story, but wanted me to pay in part. I let that deal go.

I think once I'm done teaching, I'll write more. There's just not enough time. Every now and then something will happen I know I have to write about, but often now it's about teaching--which is fine because I can usually get paid for those.

I visited your blog. The first piece I read is amazing. May I read it to my students? I strive to immerse them--which has given me the reputation of being the reading/writing teacher at my school. I'll return to read more after chores!!

Sure, read to your hearts content and feel free to read to others (I actually encourage that). What age are the children? I've quite a few stories posted and might be able to suggest something apropos. There are a few for young children as well as adults (lots of variety).

I've a publisher interested when and if I decide I'm ready, though having only written a couple of years I'd like to get a bit more under the belt beforehand.
