Hi Miranda:
What a great idea you had in asking folks to post their pictures. I've been scouring my picture files looking for one that doesn't show my multiple "chins!" Can't seem to find any that don't come equipped with the turkey neck so maybe I'll wait and see if I can get one later. I sure do like seeing what all of you look like. We all have preconceived notions of how a person might look before we actually meet them ...my surprises were:
1. Patrice, Henry, LiveToTeach I thought you were all older. You're just kids.
2. Tim, you ARE a man...I've wondered about you and "Steve." We all use "board" names so didn't know for sure but had about decided from your comments that you probably are a man but wasn't sure. The picture of your feet in your avatar was no help.

I truly am surprized at how many of you are young. I'm so thrilled to see this as I have worried that quilting might be becoming one of our lost Americana art forms as we don't seem to have alot of folks younger than 60 in the quilt groups around here and to reinforce that way of thinking, all the fabric stores and departments where we use to buy our quilting supplies are now GONE! I'm glad to see that quilting isn't only for us older folks. Keep up your good work, all of you.

Feathers, I read your post and laughed. LOL. Yes I'm a youngster at 23 but quilting and crafts are my life. My grandmother and mother in law taught me everything I know. My grandma used to sit me on her lap when I was little while she was sewing. I used to think of how I'd love to grow up to fill her shoes some day...it's funny looking back now. Now, that my grandma's and aunts that sew and quilt are older, they don't make too many quilted items. I guess they've passed the torch to me..and thankful I am! :)

Shadow, I love the tats. No explanation necessary. The horses are beautiful.

I love to see everyone's pics. Thanks for sharing.

Ok, I've been sitting here reading this thread from the 1st entry. How fun this has been. Since you are all sharing, I guess I will too.

I'm going to hit the big 50 this year and it terrifies me. I live with my DH in west TN..outside Memphis where we retired in 2000 on 115 acres. We raise a small herd of registered Angus cattle as our hobby to eat up our time. We currently have only the furry children..a dozen cats, 1 dog (all dumpees), and the cows. I decided to teach myself how to quilt at the beginning of 06 and haven't looked back since. I love the hobby and especially this board and all of you. Its nice to meet and see all of your faces...what good looking families!

Aww sandpat, you look like a fun person to spend the day with. :D

I'm headed to 50 too--in a bit more than 2 years--and I'm no looking forward to it at all. NO age has ever bothered me a bit, but I do NOT want to be 50. :(

Let's help each other. You go first.....

I hate pictures of myself, although I have lots of my hands holding snakes. I did find these from 2003, this was a very sad week for our family, but I love the pictures. One is hubby and I, this was after the second funeral for our grand-daughter in two days (one at her Dad's church and one at our daughters). One is of my oldest grand-daughter and I at the hospital (this is the one that just had a baby), the other picture is of my kids. It may look like Seaworld, but it is the cafeteria of Fresno Children's Hosp.

Ok, found one where the turkey neck isn't too apparent!

Feathers..
Thanks so much for your comment a lot of people really dont know what the family goes through, and don't realize that the troops are only there because it is their job. So weather or not we support the president or the war we need to support the troops since they are doing a job. I am glad to hear he is home and doesn't have to go back. That is really great, my DH has not heard that he is going back either. YEAH!!! :D Also you are so funny.. and at 27 I love quilting and crafts also. I have had it bread into my genes since my mom and grandmas all quilt and it has been a really fun social thing in my family for as long as I can remember. I am trying to get my little girl to like it to.. I have her into scrapbooking and stamping so quilting is next. I too would HATE to see this art be gone. This really has been a super fun fourm... thanks everyone for your posts!!!
