my heart is blessed reading all the wonderful stories (and sorry for the not so wonderful) How awesome that so many have been happily together for many years. It's rare in this day and age. Congrats and may you all live happily ever after!

I was widowed after a 31 yr marriage. After about 4 years , I started praying for someone who wanted to love and be loved in return. I felt I was too young to be alone. Persistance pays. Out of the blue , from the other side of the country ,we met. It has been a wonderful, very different 14 year relationship than the first one. We have traveled the world and have been best friends.

Its going on 38 years, and I have NEVER regretted marrying him. I guess it comes down to...he always put ME first, and still does (that's how I knew he was a good guy). He would do anything for me...and I for him. He has never made me feel as if I weren't important, or dismissed my ideas over his. I don't know what I would do without him. I am VERY LUCKY!

I have read it isn't "I can't live without him." It may be, can you live with him day after day and complete those vows.

They say opposite attract. Well that is what it is for me. Grew up in a step-family and not very comforting half sibling spoiled terribly. DH was such a comfort and friendly, funny person. 31yrs later, 3 daughters, still having fun.

Met when I was 15 and he 19 and in the military. He fell in love with my Mom but since she was taken he settled for me think-
I was like her. We were married right after I turned 16, every one tried to talk us out of it, saying it won't last and maybe it won't we are still working on it after 52 1/2 years. He is my best friend and life has been a great adventure! We have lived all over the US and two wonderful years in Spain, near Toledo. We have 3 girls, there is 16, years between the second and last. We lived 12 years in Alaska, which is my husbands second love ( I HOPE ). We have been BLESSED, by GOD! |
Because we love each other. I was the talker he was the quiet one. Two different personalities, but for some reason they blend. We have 4 kids, 6 grands, and 12 1/3 great grands. Everyone said it wouldn't last 6 mos. to a yr.. Next month it will be 54 yrs. Neither of us know where the time went, and we still enjoy being in the sasme room with each other. (except the sewing room)
