Someone started a campaign to get us to put a picture of ourselves up as an avatar, so I did. I leave it up because it was taken on our lake at the end of a beautiful day of vacation and I look so relaxed. That doesn't happen very often!

Jabear617 11-14-2010 07:37 PM

Right now mine is just a picture I got off the internet of a black cat. I have 3 black cats :)

karenchi 11-14-2010 07:44 PM

Mine is of Bailey.....He is just too cute and cuddly. What's not to love...just look at that face!

sharone 11-14-2010 07:48 PM

I choose my avatar because I live in the Middle East. I also happen to love camels. It's just a random pic I found and fell in love with.

Mine is a picture of my two fellas and I love them to pieces!! They are much more photogenic that me!

Maride 11-14-2010 09:54 PM

I took an on-line quiz on Facebook to find out which Tim Burton's character I am. Yes, silly, but it turned out that I am Emily, the bride in the movie The Corpse Bride, which happens to be my favorite Tim Burton's movie. I loved the picture and chose it as my avatar. I don't like to change it, because I very often know the poster by looking at the avatar and feel lost when they change it.

starshine 11-14-2010 11:20 PM

My avatar was my first quilt- a wall hanging that is over my mantle. When I went to the north pole to help out Peachy and the other elves from Secret Santa land I put up a picture taken from my front porch last winter, it wouldn't quit snowing.

Quiltforme 11-14-2010 11:25 PM

Mine is my first quilt block I made up. I enjoy seeing it!

Momma_K 11-15-2010 01:53 AM

I've changed mine a few times and only been here almost two weeks! I'll change with the seasons, I'll change to show off my babies (dogs), I'll change to show my family and in January to show off my new great grand baby. Right now I like what I have because I love Autumn.

Babs194068 11-15-2010 02:39 AM

I enjoy your avatar I wish I were able to have some of your humming birds. They are just so cool.

anicra 11-15-2010 04:42 AM

My avatar is of a double ring wall hanging I made from a class i took with John Flynn. The wall hanging came out fine - I think I want to try better machine quilting on it eventually but most of all, I love the colors and it makes me happy.

My sweet, adorable, ornery, kitten Bella is my Avatar. She's the most goofiest cat we've ever had. She acts like a dog most of the time, fetching things. She makes me laugh every day. She's also spoiled rotten!.

Abby'smom 11-15-2010 07:27 AM

My user name was a second choice -- Abby's Mom -- thus a pix of Abby -- first I had a pix of a quilt but that didn't fit the name

Mine is of one of the recents quilts I made, I made it for my niece for her high school Grad gift, she is very special to me, I love her as much as I love my own children. Purple is her favorite colour, and I loved how the quilt turned out, I had been collecting purple fabrics for awhile, but had no idea what pattern I was going to use, then one day I was going through some kits I had purchased and hadn't made up yet, and I came across "With Love from Bali" and in my heart I knew that's the one I was going to make for her, using the purple fabrics I had been collecting.
She is gone off to University now, so I don't get to see her as often as I used to, but she is doing well with her studies.

With Lots of Love

Mine is the Orion Nebula. It is also on my desktop. I love the colors, the natural movement and the freedom it represents to me.

Irishlady 11-15-2010 08:31 AM

I found my avatar one day as I was surfing the net and it just made me laugh out loud. Even though that poor cat has half a melon shell on her head she still manages to look dignified. Now, if I had that melon shell on my head, I'd just look downright stupid!!!

marlene tarzwell 11-15-2010 08:49 AM

Mine is a pix of my sweet only grandchild. He loves to do ANY craft with his Nana.

Glenda m 11-15-2010 10:12 AM

Mine was taken from my front porch I had built so I could sit outside and 'work.' LOL And the quilt is one I made for my youngest son for his birthday. He liked those colors and the parts that look white.. are a light lavender that I had to dye to do myself because I couldn't find the color I wanted. Good morning to everyone!!

I love the colors in this. I'll have to post the one I made using oranges and yellows. My son pick out to colors, so, that's what he got. I didn't have time to quilt it before he had to go back to Calif. He had a friend quilt it for him and she supplyed the backing. She didn't go around the edges, but made them straight. Anyway, really liked your colors.

Geoff's Double Wedding Ring Quilt now living in California. Both of them. LOL

A good friend gave me the directions for making this kitty. I has 5 or six pockets for "things", a tail that holds pins and some heart on the end that I put needles in.

LogCabinLady 11-15-2010 04:17 PM

It is a picture of our log home we live in. I love it!!!

Mine is what I love doing most in the Summertime here in Alaska. I am new to quilting and have made only one quilt but I am working on a second one for a baby. The first one I gave to my step Dad for fathers day.

She is so adorable.

Did a block swap of the maple leaf. Had them for a long time as I couldn't settle on a layout. Got a magazine last fall and on the cover this pattern. Love it! Its a huge quilt top, at least 2 rows hanging over the 6 foot fence. Yet to be quilted but plans are in the works.

Mine is one of my other passions: Autism Awareness. It's the awareness ribbon and my son's name.

kriscraft99 11-15-2010 05:46 PM

I just absolutely love hummingbirds :) I'm so jealous of yours

I love pictures of the backside of people, it makes you wonder what they are thinking @ the time the picture was taken. My avatar here just makes me smile :) My kids in their life jackets ~ they just love going on boat rides and cannot wait to find an island to explore.

sewTinker 11-15-2010 05:58 PM

mine is a quilt I made as a fairly new quilter for my father-in-law. when my mom-in-law died, I brought it home. It's the only completed quilt I have in the house - I've given all the others away, lol... I don't have any pictures of those on a disc.

Laura22 11-15-2010 06:06 PM

I'm new so I chose a picture from my first time at International Quilt Festival in Houston. I played with all kinds of long arm machines while I was there, and stitched out all kinds of crazy little critters to see how they maneuvered. I did this little zombie/godzilla looking guy and he just seemed like a fun avatar and a reminder of a good time I recently had.

Our cat, Iris, thinks she's a dog too. She follows my son around everywhere he goes & she brings him all her trophies. And when someone comes on our property she turns tail & hides.
( She's not ALL dog)

Mine is of my Blue & Gold Macaw. Her name is "JaJaBinks". I sort of rescued her from a not so nice home. She is awesome. She is silly, fun loving, and very curious. She loves to help me with everything from dishes to gardening, to baking. She LOVES halloween & goes to the door to see the kids. She talks, dances/etc for them. Parents take her pics & some video her each year. Soon she'll help me decorate the Christmas tree & on Christmas morning she's off her cage as soon as she sees me take the stockings down for her & the rest of my zoo. She loves to rips the packages open. She jabbers up a storm & makes us laugh.

Mine is a quilt I made for Hubby's youngest Brother and his 2nd wife last 8-29-09. It is called Basket of Logs, a log cabin type.

Mine is my furbabies, Burton and Momma. They are my sweethearts and entertainers. They love when the weather allows for open windows, preferring to share. They make me smile!
