I read so much on here and look at so many avatars I often wonder why folks chose the one they have. I see pix of kids and grands, husbands, couples, quilts and some really funny ones. I am just curious what made you pick that one, is that your best pic of the kids and you? Is that your most challenging quilt? Do you just love the colors?
Just curious. I guess I should answer first. I did the SpongeBob years ago as a nod to my son who was huge into SB a while ago. I kept it because he sort of represents things that are just fun and he is loving to everyone, of course he is also a blooming idiot sometimes and I can relate to that too. |
Mine are of my dogs. It is the best one of both of them. They normally don't sit still and my oldest dog seems to know when to turn his head as I am taking a pic.

I started out using a sunflower because of my board name. I changed to the penguin quilt I just finished for my grandsons birthday. No real reason to change. Will probably go back to the sunflower. I like it best and it goes with my name.

It is the first picture of me that I have liked in a looooong time. I am starting to embrace my inner diva and the voluptuous goddess that the diva is attached to. lol

I'm a big Hello Kitty fanatic (have been since I was a kid-I was raised in Japan/Okinawa) and I LOVE my little Janome Hello Kitty sewing machine so I used that for my avatar (I used to have that picture in my blog header). I only use this machine for paper crafts like cards and scrapbook papers but I also love how cute it is. :mrgreen: The background is actually the backing of a wall hanging I made.

My present Avatar makes me happy. I took the photo in our yard. Everyone seems to like the hummingbirds so I will probably leave it or change it to a different hummingbird photo. Hummingbirds are meaningful to me because we are on the migration path. We fed 144 lbs of granulated sugar this 2010 season. It's a pic of my little furbaby, Bitsy. I had received some fabric in the mail, placed it on the chair, and she climbed up on it and decided to take a little baby-cat nap! I called her my little fabric inspector. I had taken two pics of her. The first one was of her sitting on top of the stack of fabric. I left the room and returned a couple of minutes later only to find her sleeping on it! She is such a cutie. I couldn't resist using it for my avatar for a while. ;) The one before this one was of my niece Hannah. 8-)

Mine is from a concert I went to in March. My friend got me tickets for a Kittie concert that was playing in Madison on the day of my birthday. Third Kittie concert I went to and I had never been that close to the stage. I was close enough to see the mascara/eyeliner sweating off Morgan's (the lead singer) face. It was awesome. My avatar is one of the pics my friend snapped from her cell phone while Morgan was shredding on that sweet Flying V guitar of hers (while I'm here might as well explain the screen name as well: like I said Morgan plays a Flying V guitar. Hence the name "Flying_V_Goddess" ). Obviously I chose it because I think Kittie is awesome and that was such an awesome night.

Mine are Christmas pics of my two grandbabies,Lexi and Gabe. I need to get new ones as they are growning and changing so much everyday.

Mine is the last baby quilt I made right before joining the board. And it's one of my favorites. Purple is my favorite color and I love it in combination with green.

Mine is Molly, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is the cutest little dog. I've never had a little dog before and really didn't even like dogs. My daughter got her for me and now tells me that she is a very spoiled princess. She will be showing her in two large dog shows in December so that she can earn the rest of her points.

Mine is Molly, too! I have another dog, but I can't seems to catch a good picture of him. He is always right beside me and too close to the camera! I chose her because she's also my screen name and because I wasn't sure about posting a pic of me.

A few months ago someone challenged us to post a pic of ourselves. I found one from last Christmas that made me look a lot younger (that's a great camera) lol

Mine is of 2 of my favorite things- quilts & my kitty! When my dad died I made rag quilts out of his old jeans & some flannel & homespun for my sisters, brother & myself. I had them folded up waiting to pack them in my carry on & Sunny decided to nap on them.

Just started block printing again. I was proud of my cat's picture I printed yesterday so here it is today. Yay!

its my car- I love it-a cool muscle car of the 60's. I would have been 8 at the time this car was brand new. I just love my '67 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible.
And its in my yard- a nice sunny day in October- lots of color on the trees. |

The kitten means a lot to me, as well. His name was Howard-named after my mentor, Howard, of thirty years ago. They both came into my life when I needed them the most even though I didn't know it at the time. Mooly |
I am so glad I started this topic, I feel like I know so much about so many of you now! I want to reply to all of them, but for now will just read. I do love seeing cats, I have one, too. And like most of you I never get a good picture. I joke with my son and ask him why we have hundreds of pictures of the cat's butt!

My picture is a miniature water lily in one of our ponds. We have several ponds and many lilies, some are miniature and some full size. All very pretty and we enjoy having them. When we started water gardening we didn't have a clue about raccoons, herons, deer etc. being so interested and difficult to control. It is a challenge!

When I signed up for the board I was going thru the steps to join and it asked for an avatar....I didn't have one I liked handy so I posted this pic of where I live. Need to find one and change it.
