Why do they schedule my favorite shows at the same time so I have to "choose one"?

NanaCsews2 09-23-2011 07:31 AM

Many episodes of certain shows are shown online. Just google the name of the show, type episodes online. I have found many this way.

Thank you.

nativetexan 09-23-2011 07:35 AM

i use the buttons on my remote a lot, jumping back and forth he, he.

blueangel 09-23-2011 07:35 AM

I know. I have several on the same night, same time.

crafty pat 09-23-2011 07:41 AM

That used to drive me crazy. My DH changed us over to AT&T U Verse and we can watch one and tape three. Now I don't miss my shows.

MawMaw B 09-23-2011 07:57 AM

Competition. Competition. Competition.

crochetetc 09-23-2011 08:05 AM

We missed Whitney last night because of it.

bearisgray 09-23-2011 08:05 AM

My DH is a channel switcher - drives me absolutely bonkers - I wish he would pick a show - ANY show - and leave the thing on from beginning to end!

His switching usually causes a major loss of an important detail in the story or event - or I miss the setup of the story - he doesn't seem to have figured out that the mainstream networks run their commercials at the same time!

My BF does this, and he watches shows I don't like. Solution ---- put TV in office for him, one in my sewing room for me, we share the living room one, but not for long, soon the living room is going to be my sewing room and the big screen is STAYING.

thequilterslink 09-23-2011 08:50 AM

LOL, definetly last night was a challenge, i wanted to watch 2 shows at 8, 3 shows at 9 and 2 at 10, luckily i have direct tv with east and west channels so i got to see 5 of the shows i wanted to, i fell asleep before Greys anatomy came on.. oh well, and i missed Project Runway all together.

Jeanniejo 09-23-2011 08:51 AM

they made me get a DVR !!! Now I can tape and watch.

I love my DVR!!!

Tink's Mom 09-23-2011 09:59 AM

I forgot to switch back and forth last night...I was watching Grey's Anatomy and forgot that Project Runway was on....

buslady 09-23-2011 10:11 AM

OMG!!! Did I miss Greys Anatomy? Boy I hope the Teevoo got it! I tape all of them, and rarely watch anything in "real time", I can watch 3 or 4 nights worth of shows in a couple of hours. Speed through the commercials. LOL DH used to have a fit, now he is as bad as I am. Now Ican't wait to get home and see Greys Anatomy, hopefully.

MrsM 09-23-2011 11:19 AM

My husband I watch what we missed or what comes on too late for us to watch, the next night or so on the "On Demand" channels on our cable. It has been so much fun to watch them together at a time we both can enjoy it at.

Painiacs 09-23-2011 11:29 AM

Tape everything!!! My husband is a channel hopper too! Maybe it's a guy thing? lol.

athomenow 09-23-2011 11:34 AM

Love my DVR. Watch one, record two. We still miss things sometimes but you can search to see if it's on another night. Sometimes when the season begins they'll run it again on Fri or Sat.

Tink's Mom 09-23-2011 11:49 AM

if anyone else missed Project Runway...you can watch the episode on the website...
I just did...so I'm all caught up now. ;-)

Glassquilt 09-23-2011 01:53 PM

GO U-verse!!!

quiltlonger 09-23-2011 03:23 PM

DVR here too!! and skip those commercials !!

Dodie 09-24-2011 03:38 AM

besy invention the DVR no missed shows no commercials and I found out our 30 min. local news is 10 min. sports 6 min. and weather 4 sometimes not even that so no more wasted commercial time

jitkaau 09-24-2011 05:01 AM

The action that annoys me is when they always take off my favourite show to broadcast a football game...

Robinmg 09-24-2011 06:54 AM

That happens to us too. We usually watch one and then record the other one on our DVR.

katykwilt 09-24-2011 08:20 AM

The networks are very curtious -- they schedule the good ones simultaniously so you don't spend as much time watching TV and more time quilting. Boy, if they only knew what they were doing, they'd change things!

We have tivo for the same reason.

jojosnana 09-24-2011 01:50 PM

me too! I love it.

jaciqltznok 09-24-2011 02:33 PM

solution..don't watch TV....I all for disconnecting the cable! Never anything really on to watch these days!

luce321 09-24-2011 02:38 PM

If anyone missed Project Runway, they always re-broadcast the show the next week just before the current show.

RobertaMarie 09-24-2011 04:49 PM

I agree with Jacquie in OK.... I stopped watching TV a few years ago as they started having more commercials than actual shows. Most sitcoms are inane and insulting to me... I don't care for the "dark" stories, and exploding and yelling, fists socking and grunting are disgusting to me.. My DH watches what he wants,(and he complains about all the good shows being on at the same time too) but I come into my sewing room and read the QB and look at pretty quilts, and/or sew. Guess I am getting to be an old "fuddy-duddy". I only want nice things going into my brain... I do enjoy a good movie (no commercials) once in awhile. Listen to good soothing music. I am no fun at all. ;-)

donnalynett 09-24-2011 07:28 PM

Why do so many of the best shows start at 10pm? That is a little late for us old folks......guess that is why we record them.

simplyme 09-24-2011 07:44 PM

I just go online and watch the shows I miss.

judyyoungs 09-24-2011 08:01 PM

Our DVR gets a lot of action.

That happens to me too, then other times there is absolutely nothing on that I like at all.

yellowsnow55 09-24-2011 09:10 PM

L.O.L. I'm thinking the same thing.

Grambi 09-24-2011 09:36 PM

I was half-listening to a commercial yesterday for some new DVR (not sure what company is offering it) that will record shows aired up to three days past the current day. I still remember being so excited when we bought our first VCR and now look where we are. Being a couch potato is getting easier and easier! :) :)

katigirl 09-25-2011 12:39 AM

That's why we need to be able to watch one and record the others. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks they do this. lol.

Agreed, or when football, basketball or golf run overtime so the show you want to view starts later. Guess they think everyone is a night owl.

If I really love the show, I will get it on DVD after the season is done, that way I can go back and watch any time when nothing is on.
