I sold 8 or 9 to a collector who displays them and I still have more than I need. Dad had a retirement job helping at local lumberyard and have two 4 ft heavy ones from there so they are special to me. Yardsticks are still given away at our state fair.

My favorite one was one my Aunt had, a local paint store had printed on it, "Like h--- it's yours, put it back!" We were scared to touch it.
|
Mom used to spank me with them! So, I never really liked them.. secretly broke more than a few in half...
|
I've bought some at antique shops, including one of those wide, thick, heavy four foot long ones. Love it!

when i was little we had enough to supply the whole block with them.
Now we have one. we got it at a home improvement convention. They are precious now. |
when I need a new one I go to the hardware store. I have some really "vintage" ones that the numbers have worn off.
Remember when funeral homes gave out fans -- I have one rom my grandmother Mim |
The "free" prize in the Cracker Jacks box is an add for a phone game.

I have 3 or 4 of those old freebies. Hardware stores, in particular, gave them out. I also have an old meter one.
|
I needed four of them to make some sewing pattern holders a while back. Lowe's had them for $.99. They were in the paint department. I can remember getting them free just about everywhere, but those days are sadly gone. Sigh!
