Wooooo-hooooooo!!! Go me!!!!!

Howdy y'all :c)

Not to toot my own horn, but I'm just so excited!!! In the past year, I have lost FIFTY TWO pounds!!! Friday night I was at Sam's Club and saw a really cute outfit. Since my clothes are falling off of me, I decided to go ahead and get it. They don't have a fitting room at Sam's, so I had to just guess at the size. I bought a size 14 (yes, I realize I still have a way to go), and now that I'm wearing them I realize they're too big!!! I guess I should have gotten a 12, or maybe even a 10! That's down from a size 22!!!!!

What started the weight loss was having a garden last year. I'd go out and work in it, then get too hot to eat but knew I NEEDED to eat, so I'd eat a salad or a small portion of something. After a while of that, my stomach shrank so that it wouldn't hold as much. I left my husband 2 1/2 years ago, and since his idea of a "good time" was sitting at home and watching the weather channel, I'm more active now that I had been. I'm not on any special diet or anything.....just eating less and more active. And as a result of the weight loss, my sugar level has dropped to the point that I've been able to go completely off of one of my diabetes meds, and another one has been cut in half! Now to get the rest of my garden planted so I'll have something to keep the weight loss going this year! :c)

How wonderful for you! That's quite an achievement. Once you get all the carbohydrate cravings out of your body, your appetite diminishes at least in half. Keep up the good work.

Grandma Bonnie 06-10-2013 07:17 AM

It is called shirk the jerk !!!! You loose 200 pounds of husband. Then you get a divorce, get active, eat less, and lose weight. Now to smaller dress sizes. Styles are younger looking now. GOOD JOB. CONGRATS!!!! Hugs

You go, GIRL, toot that horn all you want because you deserve it. Weight loss is not easy (I ought to know) and when you have dropped that many sizes you need to BLAST that horn. Keep up the good work (gardening too!).

nivosum 06-10-2013 12:31 PM

Great job!!!! Loosing weight is very hard, keeping it off is even harder.

Drocket1 06-11-2013 03:00 AM

I keep falling off the wagon (better eating) and back problems have complicated the moving more part. I keep telling myself you don't have to change everything at once, you just have to change one thing at a time! Little by little it will work. Great job on your loss and thanks for the inspiration to start the day right!

Quilts rock 06-11-2013 03:19 AM

Hey Donna, I am blowing a fog horn for you! Congrats on losing that weight! Can you help me out? I could sure stand to lose some. AND- is your ex anywhere close by? Maybe you could stroll by in your new size 14 outfit and he could see he should have been watching you instead of the weather channel, lol!!!

quiltnut4ever 06-11-2013 03:22 AM

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is a great accomplishment!

Stitchit123 06-11-2013 03:32 AM

I'm so happy for you. My DIL quit smoking and gained approx 45 lbs on top of already being 30 lbs more then she should have been. She has been walking and cutting back , but she is feeling discouraged not seeing the lbs disappearing as fast as they showed up. I will pass your inspiration on to her. She has some major health issues and the excess weight is not doing her or her heart any good.

marymay 06-11-2013 03:35 AM

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!! Congraulations to you
