Oh I could get rid of my bulky scooter and look somewhat normal!

Aunt Doggie 01-25-2011 01:58 PM

My first thought is using at a Quilt Festival/show!!!!!!
Think of how many bags I could carry at one time!!!

quiltlonger 01-25-2011 02:06 PM

Wonder what price tag is on THAT$$$

mommamac 01-25-2011 02:09 PM

wonder what the price tag is?

Rachel 01-25-2011 02:10 PM

how much are they? I can't find a price anywhere...

wait I found it. $660.00

miss_ticky2 01-25-2011 02:11 PM

I want one! :D

Lacelady 01-25-2011 02:33 PM

I don't think I could get rid of my mobility scooter - there is no where to put any shopping here, or stow a walking stick. Would it go up a kerb? I doubt it. I think this might be good for indoors, shopping malls, or even airports, but wouldn't be practical for me.

I'm not even sure if I would be comfortable with my feet so far back, and it looked as if the model's shoes would get scuffed too.

chickadeee55 01-25-2011 02:42 PM

Wow, what next.

quiltergirl80 01-25-2011 02:48 PM

I think I'd fall over backwards

KarenK 01-25-2011 02:50 PM

WAY COOL!!!

CrazyAunt 01-25-2011 02:51 PM

I want two, just in case one breaks down. It looks wonderful.

beachlady 01-25-2011 03:03 PM

It looks so very interesting. I'd probably fall off and kill myself! Notice how nice and thin the girls were? LOL

BellaBoo 01-25-2011 03:05 PM

I can only imagine how our grandchildren will live at our age. I sure would love to be around to see it all.

amma 01-25-2011 03:18 PM

Although I think it would be fun, but it makes me wonder if eventually we will evolve towards walking becoming a lost art? LOL :D:D:D

dixiebelle162002 01-25-2011 03:55 PM

Interesting, but how comfortable could it be with no back support.

carhop 01-25-2011 04:50 PM

cool

KarenSimon 01-25-2011 05:19 PM

I think this is what I need. Having Muscular Dystrophy walking is a challange. Wonder if health insurance would cover it?

Mitch's mom 01-25-2011 06:09 PM

I could see plopping my big ol' butt on that. From the size of the models, and the fact no men were shown using it, I'll bet the weight limit is pretty low.

Aurora 01-26-2011 03:34 AM

I was thinking that carrying a purse or bags would throw it off-balance and doubt it is good on rough terraine. But it would be fun to try. Did you notice it looked like sometimes they were dragging the toes of their shoes on the floor? So how fast would it wear out the toes of ones shoes.

Riversong 01-26-2011 04:33 AM

WOW!!! I have to use the electric scooters at Walmart. This would be great. You could ride it and push a cart too!!!!

sandpat 01-26-2011 06:21 AM

Cool...interesting. DH has mobility issues and he thought is was the coolest thing! It probably won't be affordable in our lifetime though. Thanks for sharing the info though!

stitchinwitch 01-26-2011 06:22 AM

A nice idea - BUT.....What about those of us that have more "Junk in the Trunk" - do they come in extra large? It looked a little scary when she tried to get on it - older people would have a problem. And lastly - those girsls are YOUNG! They should USE their leg muscles because we don't have them forever! But great concept.

dottientx 01-26-2011 07:37 AM

Looks like fun but wonder how practical it would be for everyday living. Perhaps to only navigate around a quilt show, museum, mall or any other smooth surface, flat surface. I can't see them used while pushing a shopping cart. Watch out Willy, here I came! Where would you put your purchases? Wouldn't have much of a lap on which to set your bags but what fun it would be to have one. $660 - not all that bad!

fidgety 01-26-2011 07:45 AM

wow that is neat but I do not see how anyone with any balance issues would be able to use it. wonder how much they are?

I'd love to around too, BellaBoo, can you just try to imagine what will be around in 50 or 60 years? I'd like to take a test drive on one of these new transport thingies but would probably fall and break a hip or something, lol.

Roberta 01-26-2011 10:00 AM

If I had a hinny as small as those girls it might work :-P

LOL and this fat old lady probably would dump it over just getting on it. But it would be very cool to have for shopping in a mall or a large chain store. Way cool, what's next ? ya know ?

bjnicholson 01-26-2011 11:33 AM

I wonder how you steer it?

Shikadee 01-26-2011 11:38 AM

OMG, that is even cooler than the segway!

When this is widely available, the price will go down, I think, but my original guesstimate was $10,000. for R&D. And I imagine there would be improvements, like a backrest, basket, larger wheel, etc. I am interested in what powers it; probably a battery of some kind. I could sure use this around the house and wonderful for sandwiching my quilts on the bed! Thanks, Honda!

Shemjo 01-26-2011 01:14 PM

Now this is something I would like. I have a problem walking distances, even in a store. Balance might be an issue, but if the load could be increased, a backpack would help me keep my balance. Now to work on MY LOAD!

Hahaha... that's the exact thing I thought when I saw that several months ago... quilt show! Where do we get one?

KellyS 01-26-2011 05:01 PM

I'd love one but am so klutzy I'd probably fall over backwards - would be nice to take shopping - guess I'd try to attach a wagon on the bag for all my goodies, then at least I'd have something to fall back in to!! lol

penski 01-26-2011 06:02 PM

wow i dont see how that would be comfortable , i would probaby loose my balance fall off of it and it wouold run over me !!!
