My husband and I bought burgandy carrots a couple of times. They looked good on a plate of raw veggies we put together. We were trying to find different, unusual, veggies.

I wish you lived closer. We are potato seed growers and have three varieties of purples. We have MacIntosh Black and Caribe which are deep purple inside and out and Purple Chief which are purple skinned and white inside with a purple ring. Colourful vegetables are becoming more popular and are good for you too.

There are also purple bell peppers. I think they were called Gypsy peppers. Very mild.

You can get the seeds and potato starts from Pine Tree Seeds. Just google it.

Thank you everyone, for you input. I guess we just live in the wrong area for colorful veggies. It is too late to order seeds for this year. But maybe we can find something at the Farmers Markets. We don't have Kroger's or any of those other stores here.

Minnesota? You're probably not too late yet to plant. Pine Tree Garden Seeds has a website www.superseeds.com. I order from them every year and their prices are very affordable. And the seeds grow.
