I make a lot of bags. My daughters sell them to their friends and coworkers. I am working on an order for 6 table runners for a woman that works with one of my daughters. I have lots of quilts and want to make more someday, but the high cost of fabric is a real downer.

I've made a lot of Bow Tucks bags ... they are fun and easy to make and I like the finished results ... but I'm ready to try a different pattern.

There are TONS of free patterns as well as tutorials online. Try, all people quilt, (they have purse patters too, Sew mama sew, henrettias handbags, the list goes on and on, type in handbag, purse,or tote tutorial too, lots of people have free ones on their blogs.
If you want a really cute very easy to understand pattern to buy, I really like the Joan Hawley "lazy girl designs" they make up in less than two hours tops and have lots and lots of pockets!

I love making totes, purses, wallets and all kinds of bags I teach quilting/sewing at a LQS. One of the ladies that works there calls me the bag lady because I'm always making them.

Some nice ones here ;-)

I mostly just wing it though. I carefully examined a leather backpack that I have and then made one form some home dec fabric.

I have had the bow tuck pattern for quite a while but still need to make one.

I've got two more quilts to finish and I'm taking a break. Might do some tote bags that are heavy enough to take to the store. Seems like in the summer I just can't deal with quilting.
