Another thought for your consideration:
How about using sew-on, not fusible, knit interfacing? Place the stretchiest direction of the interfacing at 180 degree angle to the outside pocket fabric. Yes, there'll be some give but also "return" because of the 180 degree angling. Taking a look at the combination may just turn out showing you the answer you're looking for.
Please share your final answer with us. And have a wonderful holiday season.

I have made quillows with cotton and batting. I would use a little glue, put cotton wrong sides together with the fleece and do a little quilting and then follow directions. That would keep the pocket from streching out of shape.

No need to use stabilzer. I have made hundreds of quillows out of polartec and the one thing to remember, is that usually width wide is the stretch and length is not. So don't make the pillow part as large, make it 16-18 inches square and make sure that the stretch goes across the opening of the pillow on the quillow. Use a walking foot if you have one to attach it to the quillow, and if you don't, then use a small zig zag stitch to allow for stetching. Thanks

Hi,I used to make these to pass on to the homeless, added a strap so they could carry them around. At night they could put their possessions in the pocket as well as their feet to keep them safe.Good idea to use fleece throws, I think I will start to make more.Love Letty.
