Smile quilt "recipe"

My sister just moved to a remote lake/woods home. She was hearing every noise in the woods so I suggested sewing/quilting where the machine would drown out the noises. I made a French braid "quilt kit" and sent it to her. She googled "French Braid" and got hair styles. Then she added "quilt" to it. She really liked the quilt I was sending and told me to be sure to include the "recipe" of how to make it. I think I have my work cut out explaining through e-mail how to use the pattern (Recipe). Needless to say, she has never quilted.

Maybe one of Jane Miller's french braid books needs to be added to the recipe?

What a nice thing to do for your sister. Hopefully she'll get as hooked as the rest of us!

I wonder how 2 girls from the same 2 parents could be so different! My sister is brilliant, she works for a University, can understand any tech product without reading the directions, she sings, she has a come back for anything anyone says to her but she hot glue's her hems and the one time she did sew, she put pockets on the inside of an apron. I sew and quilt and she thinks that's amazing! I LOVE my sister!!!!

That was my thought too! We are so different, but admire each other's talents. She has one braid done! She is determined. It might be done for Christmas.
