Although I think of my late dad often, this Father's day led me decide to pay tribute to a time in his life.

Posted are pics of a sewing kit/box he made for my mom during WW2 while on board ship in the south Pacific. All the materials were scraps of what he could find on board ship. The hinge, latches & handle were hand made of some type of brass he found on board. He hand painted the message to her. It is a special treasure to me.

I was between 8-11 at the time, (seems 100 yrs ago now) so I don't remember when she actually received it, but I can imagine it must have been quite emotional.

The items in the box are still what my mom, Margie Alyne Glenn-Page put in there - I don't actually use it, as it is really a memory of both of them. I also posted these on Facebook, so here's to my dad - George Allen Page, Jr., a GREAT MAN!!!! LOVE YA DADDY!!
