Does anyone have a pattern for an apron made in home ex class circa late 1940's? As I remember it had a square bib with 2" shoulder straps with a slightly gathered skirt on a waistband and had large patch pockets.

Look at the patterns such as McCalls, Simplicity. I have several patterns from them with a variety of patterns in each one.

Google can be your best friend when looking for patterns. I just put in the search box "free apron patterns" than clicked on images. Look from there. If you see one you like just click on the picture.

Thanks for responses...guess I should have been more specific. It's an Edwardian bib apron with waistband and slightly gathered skirt with large patch pockets. Did check the site you recommended as well as TexasSunshine's suggestion but none came close. Also tried "vintage", "edwardian", "victorian" and although pictures came up there was no pattern. There are some on Etsy already made as well as on Pinterest but I just want the pattern.

Can you make your own based on your description? Any of the other patterns that you can adapt? I can adapt most anything but would need a picture to start with.

I am so in awe of you who can "adapt". I can sew absolutely anthing from a pattern but just don't have enough "smarts?", "courage ?", etc. to alter a pattern on my own.

Just looked on pinterest and there are lots of pictures that come up. Some have waistbands and some don't. Here is link to a pattern listed on amazon.

Oh my gosh. I certainly would pay you for it. Google "Julie Chastain Wilson Edwardian Apron" and a series of snapshots should come up. The first is a pattern with ruffles on the bib and shoulder straps.....but mine is the 3rd one from the left....very simple and I don't want lace on bottom. The bib comes up higher than the picture you sent. I could buy this one but the fact is I want to make 4 in different sizes. I am an 18-20. If I have a basic pattern I do know how to make the pieces smaller for other sizes.

Here are a couple of patterns that will do what you want. The only difference I see is that the bib on your picture is higher and you can cut that higher when you cut out the bib. You can make any skirt longer or shorter simply by deciding what length you want and cutting the skirt longer when you lay out the pattern.

Think the McCall's vintage pattern would work. Mine had set in over-the-shoulder straps attached from the waist, up the bib and to the back but think this one will be just fine. So very sweet of you to take the time to locate it. Looks like the bib is pretty much a square and the skirt a rectangle. The pattern is just a medium but I know I can add inches to the bib widthwise as well as to the skirt. It will, also, be easier to take inches out to make a small size. You're a gem!!!!
