I often feel like you do, Bear. But I do save scraps that are 2.5" and larger in bags by the machine--good leader/enders and maybe some day I'll have time to run them through the Accuquilt. I do save strings--have finished 3 string quilts in the last year.

I draw the line at 1" x 1 1\2". If I started saving snippits smaller than that I would make myself crazy! I don't know why I am so frugal about it but I am. I know I can use something that small in an offset log cabin block.

I save fat qtrs, chunks (about 10" flats), 5" squares, 2 1/2" squares, 2 -2.5" strips, and strings 3/4" or wider. I once made a beautiful crumb quilt out of fabric I cut for a king size winding ways that was a disaster . It is a beauty, but I don't save crumbs. And I dont have any yardage except muslin. My backings and bindings are even made out of these pieces. They are organized because they are my only source of fabric.
