searching for old poem
I used to have my mother's old scrapbook, and in it was a clipping with a poem called "Santa Goes Commercial" that was in the form of "The Night Before Christmas". Of course, the book and poem are gone due to my lack of foresight. Stooooopid me. Any other ol' timers or their children out there who can get their hands on this poem? I think it had originally been printed in a women's magazine, must have been in the 30's or early 40's.

I found a web site that has a lot of variations on The Night Before Christmas, maybe the one you are looking for in there. Here's the link http://www.appleseeds.org/twas-night_vers.htm
If it's not there, there are lots of them to enjoy anyway. I read some and they are very funny.

Quiltaddict, I love it. Thank you for sharing. It brought a smile to my face, memories to cherish from 1972 when we said "No!" to commerial Christmas gifts and starting making them every year to try and make a statement to our children. Christmas decor came out before Halloween that year. We started quilting together as a family that year. Last Christmas youngest daughter was home for the holidays, we made adult Christmas stockings in the sewing room. Still remember the laughter and the fun.
