I have a shank button to put on a Bow Tuck. I've never put on a button that isn't a sew-through one.

How do I sew it on, if I can't see the hole?

Thanks

Sew through the shank. If you've cut it off, you'll have to drill two small holes.

But when the button is up against the tote bag, I can't see the back of it. How do I attach it when I'm not able to see the hole?

Put a safety pin through the piece where you want to sew on the button, push the needle up then slide it through the shank and put it back through the material to the back. Push back up across the safety pin, put through the shank and down on the other side. Do this until it is well attached then tie off on the back side and undo and slide out the safety pin. Hope this helps.
