I have a chrome (I guess that is what it is) corner shower caddy. How do you keep the pole part from getting rusty?

I've heard putting car wax on it will help it to repel water. I haven't tried it but it might work.

That sounds like a good idea...I hate trying to clean the soap scum that gets on my lower basket.

Try some spray silicone, I've heard it works pretty good.

good luck. they should never sell those things if they can rust. they go "inside" the shower. Duh! good luck.

wouldn't making sure it's dried after each shower help?

I wipe down the walls after each shower with a squeegee and never have soap buildup. Wish I had started that years ago!!!!!!!!!

Have you considered changing the location of the caddy? I put mine at the back of the shower. I usually stand with the water at my back so I can reach up and get shampoo or brushes or whatever I need. Mine does not get soap scum because it is not exposed to soap. Try it!

Weeeeeellllll, WD-40 is actually "Water-Displacement (formula #) 40" so it should work. We used to shine countertops & all chrome fixtures & even the doorknobs with it when we were cleaning the bath house in a Florida State Park....it not only shined things right up, but they never EVER had a rust problem with their fixtures, and everyone else always did. Only thing you've gotta watch out for - don't let any over-spray get on the floor, especially in the bathtub...or you'll end up on your butt.
