Default silhouette cameo for felt ornaments

I want to make some felt ornaments and tried to use the Silhouette Cameo machine to cut out the shapes. So far, I am not having much luck. Has anyone done this with good results?

I don't think you'll have success. The Cameo settings for fabric are for light/thin--meaning cotton, or for heavy/thick which they show as poplin, canvas, etc. Felt is much more "fuzzy" and will shift too much under the movement of the cutting blade even if you do put a stablizer on the back of it.

You could try using an iron-on removable stabilizer over and under it. I have no experience with cutting machines whatsoever but use stabilizer for machine embroidery, and that comes to mind as a possibility. Pellon Fuse-and-Tear is one brand I'm familiar with. There may be others. I have made felt ornaments by just sewing the two layers together and pinking around the edges, as per an old Vogue pattern from the 1980's.

Silhouette has flocked heat transfer sheets. You don't have use the heat option. Perhaps that will work for you.
