Simple Pleasures
#22
turning into the drive and knowing I'm "home"
little voices calling me Grammie
(and many of you may not identify with this one) being able to make payroll every 2 weeks for myself and 2 staff. Times are hard in real estate and I run a small small title co. and so every time payroll comes up I say my prayers as we hold our own.
I am very blessed with a healthy family and a nice property to play in the dirt and a pretty house and lots of fabric stash so I appreciate the simple pleasures as they are the big things!

Getting an unexpected "I love ya granny" - even on FaceBook!
Having a 2 yr old grt grandson holler "granny, granny, granny" when I walk in his house.
A hug & smile or phone call from friends at church
At 77 it doesn't take much to make me happy!!!

"Taking my bra off and going barefoot in the house "Me too, except barefoot outside too Well braless outside too:) (advantages of living in the country :)
The pleasant smells like another mentioned when riding (love honesuckle and lilac) also the cool and warm currents you feel when riding in the evening.
The smell of warm worked dirt in the spring.
Fabric fondling
Newborn piglets and calves.
Seeing seeds sprout after planting.
Really getting to know an old tree with character.
Finding that special rock.
A pleasant patient to care for that reminds me why I chose health care.
Making a dying persons last hours as comfortable and dignified as I possibly can.....
Hearing a genuine laugh.
Taking care of old Vets that are REAL MEN and often characters,( I like them best)
Seeing Old Glory Wave and feeling humble at what was given for me.....

1. smelling honeysuckle (10 - 12 times) while riding motorcycle last night
2. looking at all the wonderful creative quilts on this quiltboard
