We had to go to urgent care this morning. My son asked why so early, and I told him we had to beat the Black Friday casualties ;-)

I had to come in to work this morning! BUMMER! I don't do black friday though......tried it one time and that was enough for me! Got up at 2 am and was miserable! Bought hardly anything, too crowded, wanting to get a bite for breakfast and you couldn't even get in the door at places. That's just not for me!

Today~I had to use an entire can of heat to get into my truck. I even had to spray it on my key in order to unlock my door! Ugh, I wouldn't want todo that in the wee hours of the morning!

I actually enjoy it!! I like a good challenge. Ppl don't mess with me so I always have a good time. My DD and I tag team as we go thru the stores. That 16yr. old can shop and won't stop til she finds everything she needs.

I think they felt obligated from a legal and PR perspective to do everything possible to keep the crowds under control.

well, we did do the WM thing - didn't go until almost 8 am tho - so, some things were already gone - like the $98 tvs and the sony reader at the first store - but did get the $39 external hard drive, the nintendo ds and one whole game LOL...
so went to the other WM at the south end of the county and lo and behold they had ONE sony reader - they didn't even know where they were and the guy spotted this one laying on top of one of the red cardboard holders...
I was amazed tho - we got up close to both stores (we always park by the garden dept), got a buggy, got to where we wanted to be, DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE to check out...
all in all a good experience....
And, I've got the DS all charged up so my grand-daughter who is on her way here for "Thanksgiving" tomorrow can show me all about it LOL, and downloaded and installed some epub books from gutenburg.org...

I bought a lot of movies we were wanting but I was not willing to pay $20.00 for so I got most of them for under $9.00 a piece. I think I got 10 movies on DVD for under $50.00.

I've never shopped on Black Friday. Grandkids are all old enough to just want gift cards or itune cards. Fine with me and I can buy them anytime.
