I just read about the first fatal grizzly attack in Yellowstone since 1986, a 57 yo man hiking with his wife who was spared. And then read this post..............

WOW,at least you knew it was around.All we saw was trash and a footprint.Last year we had on the back deck.All my husband saw was a belly,because the bear was on his hind legs standing up.Connie in CO

Walking is safe :) They really don't care about us as long as we aren't a threat to the cubs.
We had a momma and her 3 cubs in the yard one night when we pulled in the driveway, they all ran up the tree.
One night my son heard noise on the deck, thought a friend was here....uh no! it was the bear :)
