Stewed Tomatoes
Nothing says Fall to me more than a large pot of stewed tomatoes simmering on the stove. I know a lot of QB members use their crock pots also. Get the cooking out of the way so we can concentrate on more important things like sewing and QB.

My husband won't allow tomatoes in any food so after I make meatloaf, soup, etc. I add some to my portion. I can and freeze tomatoes in containers so I can have just what I need. When he is gone I eat whole jars of stewed tomatoes!

If you can't get green tomatoes, you can slice up large cucumbers and fry them. They taste almost identical to fried green tomatoes. I don't have a garden and it's impossible to find green tomatoes in the supermarkets, so I fry cucumbers.
