Next time use shrink wrap. You can buy it at Walmart in the same section where they sell shipping supplies. I use it to "tape" all the drawers in every thing shut. One roll will last for ages.

I have used a product called DK5 with great results. It removes the extra spray from a spray adhesive called 505 for spray basting quilts. It does not harm wood or fabric or any other surface that I have used it on. It looks oily when you first wipe it around but when it dries, all residue is gone.
