the say on the news that consumer spending is Up right now..well, yeah income tax checks are out...
BUT, I also heard that now is the time to stock up on cotton goods...things like clothing, sheets, towels, pillows, etc....reason..just like our GOOD cotton fabrics, these items will be of lesser quality, higher cost and fewer choice/options!

Have you been stocking up on good quality sheets, towels, etc?

No, I can survive with the sheets and towels I have now. If they are too expensive then I just won't buy new ones. I'll buy fabric that I like when it is on sale to build my stash but not just to stock up.

I'm more likely to stock up on food staples.

Nah, we're all set. I usually buy stuff like this at huge discount at Tuesday Morning or such like stores. It's just us 2 adults so we don't go thru sheets, towels, pillowcases etc, esp. since I buy high thread counts to begin with. However, the male of the species who does our laundry is a bit overfond of bleach, so I just live with my brand new sheets a few degrees lighter then they started out, always
Better he do it then me

Just fabric. It's only the two of us and I love pretty sheets and towels, so we are abundantly stocked. DH did order 2 dozen each of his jockey stuff after I told him about price increases this summer. He did the same thing at Christmas when we were at their outlet store in San Marcus. So he is well stocked...lol

I think my biggest issue is we are rural and have very limited places to buy at a good price anyway...thinking of a nice trip to a bigger shopping area or finding sales online!
I would love to sets of good sheets for hubby and I, and some nice bath towels..that are good..not the ones with the edges raveling after a year, or with that stupid banding that makes them shrink funny....
