This is something that I have not heard before....Just why does this have such an effect?
It helps reduce the static electricity.

Electric went out at 9:00p.m. last night - got it back 12:30 today. Have electric , Internet & phone, but no cable for TV so I can't see what happend in NY. We have very high winds, so I would not be surprised if we loose electric again.
