I’ve had my iPad Pro for two years and it still holds a great charge. You can download books, movies and music...

We bought an ipad about 4 years ago for use on our boat. It went out last month and cannot be fixed. I never really liked it as well as my kindle that I've had for 8 years. It's been great although I hate the smaller keyboards for typing emails. I think the quality of all of these devices are basically dependent upon getting used to using them. We are not buying another ipad but if my kindle went out I would like another one or either a nook for downloading books and reading them and playing words with friends.

My kindle fire 8.9 is fine after 4 years. The only problem I am had is operator problems. You should call and talk to someone. They were able to help me over the phone in no time.

I have a Nextbook 8" tablet I've had for about 5 or 6 years. It's still going strong and wasn't too expensive either. I got mine at Walmart for about $100.

I have had an IPad 2 and now use an Pad Air 2. I love them both. DH now uses the older one, since he only reads email, Facebook, and plays games. The best thing about Apple products is never getting viruses, and since I have bought them reconditioned on Amazon, I have paid less than $200 each. I do not care that the cases are scratched and dinged since I keep them in the foam type ( like Crocs are made from) cases that are made for kids, and are (Kelly proof too) which I also got on Amazon for about $20. I have sight problems so I prefer the larger tablets. I can even make my font larger as I need to.

*if you chose to go this route, be sure to select a seller that is approved by Amazon. (Five stars on any refurbished seller makes me worry, but then I am paranoid....)

My sister has had her Kindle Fire for about five years and it's still going strong. They have really come down in price.

I bought my self a Valuepad (cost was $100), I know you may not have heard about it but it has worked great for the last 5 years, it may be time for me to upgrade this year. I gave my Color nook to my husband and have upgraded that to a Kindle fire which he loves. I hated the ipad but that was just me.

I have a 13" tablet/PC combo from Dell and love it. I can use it like a computer or use it as a tablet.
