Yup! Can relate. In fact, I think the cats and dogs understand way more than some of the two-legged ones do.

I have 1 of each & talk to both. Dog "listens". Cat just wants to be petted or played with. But sure is boring without them.

I talk to my dogs. It makes me seem less crazy than if I say I'm talking to myself.

I always talk to our dog. I talk to every animal....even our squirrels outside! Oh, and I talked to our many chameleons outside & have even named one "Walter". He comes to my sewing room window every day of the year (except winter) & I love watching him try to catch bugs outside.

Well based on what I’ve seen with cats and dogs using those buttons to communicate with their humans, I think they understand a lot more than people think.

I have two dogs and i talk to them all the time.

they are your best friends and they don't spread gossip

I talk to my cats all the time. They don't argue. I like that.
Our dog, Barney, used to grumble under his breath when my husband "bossed him around". He never did that with me.
We still laugh about it. Barney was definitely my dog haha
