OMGoodness! I have a shutoff button on my vacuum. But yes sometimes you just get caught up in the moment. It happened to me and that's why I can LOL! I used my rotary cutter to cut the threads where I could then an exacto knife. DH LOL'd til he got the bill for me to replace my thread on his card. Then I LOL'd! That'll learn 'em! LOL!

I did this trick once but with yarn. After standing there looking horrified for far too long I finally hit the switch. Talk about a mess. My FIL was visiting at the time and several days later I was grumbling about how badly the vacuum worked and he piped up and said, " but it sure is good for winding yarn".

In my house, I'm not allowed to use the vacumn. My feeling is it should pick up anything I lead it to- kleenex, pieces of string, little bits of fabric and perhaps a wayward cat {not really, I wouldn't hurt my boys!} When it balks at my requests I hate to admit it but I say some BAAAAAD words!
