Teaching him early
I get to keep my great gs occasionally and he loves to get up in my lap when I am quilting.
He is very aware that needles are sharp because I tell him quite often and he has never
stuck himself. Of course, I don't get a lot of quilting done when he is here.

When my boys were little, they always wanted to do what momma was doing. Whether it was cross stitching, needle point, ceramics or quilting. My sons now know how to sew on their own buttons and when my oldest was in the Navy, he made money on the side because he knew how to sew on his own patches. When out to sea, sailors need someone to help sew on patches.
