    Question Ottlight Glass Shade Broken

Arrrgggggh! Was moving furniture around and went to move my Ottlight that I had purchased from my bff mom. I'm sure it's an older model, extremely heavy base and the glass shade/globe and the light portion both came crashing to the floor.
Now I'm searching for replacement shade/globe to replace what I had. Any insight would be appreciated... I don't think it's going to be easy.
    TIA.... Jennifer

I broke one and picked up a replacement at either Lowe's or Home Depot.

It is Lowes that sell OttLights. That is where I got my floor model. It was cheaper than Joann's with their coupon. I don't know if they sell replacement parts. It does sell replacement light bulb.

The new floor models (one of them at least) apparently don't have glass shades any more. The one I recently purchased had a regular white fabric-over-plastic shade. Be sure to look for one with the same attachment feature as the one which broke as there are several types in the shade department.

Try going to the Ott Light website (the company that makes them.)

This is what I would suggest, maybe look on it for a model number? Good Luck!

Yes, called Ott but have a model number with you when you call.

Thanks ladies. I'm frustrated as I've been to several stores in the area. No glass globes available and no plug in lights either.
DH and I went to Joanns so I bought a new one almost as nice and they were 50 percent off. The one that would have been a replacement for the same thing I broke was on sale for $159.
I have contacted Ottlite in an email with the number on the bottom of the stand and I'm waiting to hear back. They sent me a email and the wait to get a reply is 48-72 hours.
I will post what the actual cost will be to get this unit up and running....... just a reminder to be more careful so you all don't end up in this mess.
I've always been the type to learn from others mistakes or at least try to, so hopefully someone else can learn from mine.

    Final Update:
Sent email to Ottlite and they replied with auto: it takes 48 to 72 hours to get a response.

This am I got a reply and the number info on the base was not their model no. etc. It is suppose to be on a 'sticker' which is missing from the base.
I called customer service, explained the situation, apparently the service woman said it sounded like such and such a model and ordered the globe and the lamp plug in for me. So in under 5 minutes, my problem was solved and I ended up with free shipping and no tax and spent less than $50!
Yeah for speedy customer service via the phone.
    End of saga...........I hope.
