I've seen these before, but what made this one special was the handwritten poem on the bottom of the chair! :) It reads:

The Pincushion Rocking Chair

I have come to stay with you...
You'll find me handy too.
Line up the spools you often use,
To darn and mend and tack,
Then place the scissor that you choose
Down in the hole in my back.
In my plump little cushion...
Stick your needles and pins;
Even after the hands that made me
Have stopped in rest...
I can serve you well, and help
Cherish the home that you love best.

Thought it was really a sweet little poem, and I love the rocking chair!

I had one of those little rocking chair pin cushions years ago BEFORE I ever started sewing. Wish I had it now. :) I love that poem.

I really fell in love with the poem. All of the punctuation is as it was written! ;) :)

What a great find. I've never seen one before with a poem included. Very vintage.

I had one years ago. It was lost in one of my moves. Thanks for sharing.
