These are intriguing- the geckos are my faves. Where do you get your inspiration?

These are too cute...Are they your patterns, or do you take a pre-made critter and cover with beads....Great idea either way...Lots of handwork...I love beads/bling, ect...Kudos to you..

I am fascinated by your creativity handwork. All are just beautiful and if I had to pick one, it would be the geckos. Thanks so much for sharing.

It is called bead embroidery and no they are not couched. The beads are very secure with a lot of backstitching.

Its not a trade secret but there are so many variables involved in order for them to turn out right. I have showed a few people and they gave up because it was more time consuming and difficult than they thought it would be.
I can't do a tute on them because you really have to able to show in person and explain a lot.
I developed my own way of deciding how to and what fabric is best. I've seen some absolutely adorable animals that I would love to bead but the fabric is not something I can work with.
On top of that some animals take me over a week to do (about 20-30 hours or more), and some just fly along but it still takes time, time, time. Lucky me the eyes are still holding out.
Hope this answers a few questions.

Actually, my inspiration is the animal itself. I let it talk to me, I also at times let the beads rule and other times I am in charge of them.
When I make my little shamen dolls, I put the face on first and go from there.
I guess I just need those eyes staring at me telling what to do.

A pre-made critter (I am not that talented believe me), but as I have stated a lot of variables are involved with each animal. I guess I just found a knack for them.
