They want me again
The last time, I served on a Death Penalty trial of the murders of two young boys. The trial lasted for 4 months.
Have to report for duty in early July.

Seeing those letters in the mail box gives me the same reaction as one from the IRS

Hopefully this one won't last as long :D

I've gotten called twice, and not had to go. I am low income, and I couldnt afford to take the time off work, and they did excuse me. I was really worried though!

I was called to be a juror on a murder trial too many years ago. We found the guy guilty and he got 25 years without parole. I don't know about you but I found it very emotionally draining but I am glad I did it. He went to his mother's house, clubbed her with a hammer and wrapped her in carpeting. They were trying to get him off on an insanity plea but it didn't work.

You are right, it was very emotionally draining for me too. I cried every night in the shower (and I rarely cry). I too am glad I did it. It probably was one of the most important things I've ever done. I don't think anyone can imagine what it is like unless they have served on such a jury...it is life changing.

I've only been called once but since I was self-employed I didn't have to go in at all.

I think they have an accounting to a higher Judge and I'm no substitute.

I was crying too. I remember coming home after it was over and I cried and cried. I thought "what is the matter with you??" It took me a few days to get over it. It was quite the experience. I don't think I would want to do it again.
