My Christmas cactus is also full of blooms.. It bloomed for Christmas, but not covered.. now it's going to bloom again!! Silly plant, doesn't it know it's time to take a rest?

They need light (and dark, but that's another question)... but not direct light. They are a succulent so they don't like a lot of water! I almost accidentally killed mine by overwatering! I'm not sure about fertilizer?

My Christmas cactus has bloomed at times other than Christmas. It probably has to do with the amount of natural light it gets and maybe withholding water. Mine thrives on neglect

Mine is 38 years old it was an engagement present and blooms 3 times every year, the same as Aurora's. I thought I killed it in 1978 and I tossed the pot and plant under the back deck. Two years later, we replaced the deck and the plant was blooming and beautiful! I have transplanted it several times and it has moved to 3 different houses and 2 states. Still beautiful! It does best when I ignore it

We lived in Indy for 20 years and my Christmas cactus bloomed at all times of the year. It was the center piece for one 4th of July. When we moved back to Toledo, Ohio it never bloomed again and it died. I always figured it died from depression.

This plant is a Thanksgiving cactus. There are Easter and Christmas cactus plants.If you do a search you can find pictures of the differences.

I had a Christmas cactus that would some times bloom just before Thanksgiving right after New Year and around Easter. They don't care what time of the year it is. Just enjoy the beautiful blooms. I dod.

My "Christmas" catus blooms in the spring and the fall. When summer hits, I put it in the flower garden, in the pot and out of the sun, I ignore it all yr and then in late fall I move it to the steps with partial sun until right before it might freeze. The cold weather makes it want to bloom again. Works all the time.
