I"m a HUGE Google fan.
Gotta Google it if I don't know the answer.
So, of course I Google'd this.
There are loads of people who try this and swear that this actually works.
One says it works for bees too.
I wonder if it'll work for the wasps we have that are always flying around and making nests in our windows.
Guess when it stops raining, I'm going to set out some baggies with pennies in them.

I have to try this at my front and back door. With two kids going in and out there are always flies in the house which I can't stand!!

Hey I'm gonna try it too and let my DIL in on it. With 100+ milking cows here and that many heifers at their place we have lots of flies  Will let you know how it works :)

That sounds good! I have let my friends know, they have just moved into a new house and are starting to wonder if there is a body buried under the patio, they get so many flies!

Skeat.....

My grandson got stung by a bee while we were at a tractor pull and I immediately put a penny on it and he said it didn't hurt afterwards. But I made it hold it there for 10-15 minutes. that is what I heard should be done.

Now that is what I have to remember, I had read this before and was (I think) bit by a spider, it itched so bad for three days I had to put an ice pack on it to stop the itching so I could go to sleep. The third day I just about boil it (not really) with the hottest water I could stand and that kind of stopped it. I just wonder if the penny thing would have worked? Worth a try... hum

Terri have you ever tried the soap in a pin tin ...thing? You put soapy water in the tin, wrap a flat stick with bacon and place over the water they are drawn to the bacon and when they walk about it going on the under side and they fall in the water ... That's the end for them and they defiantly leave you and yours alone!
