I made all my clothes all the way into my late 20's, I know many others here did the same.
I stopped when vest patterns went to $15.00 and I could buy a vest at Target or Sears for $7.00

If I didn't keep losing and gaining the same 30 pounds I have Palmer/Plesh permanent patterns.

Thanks gingerd for the link to the vintage patterns website. Can't wait to really look at the fashions. I see some fun time in my future. I have several patterns, unopened and unused, from way back in the day, the 40's I think. No real purpose in them, I found them in an antique store in NYC and HAD TO have them.

Thanks for the link. I love to look at vintage patterns. The bathing suits were really funny and the evening gowns were beautiful. Who knows? I may buy one and make it up!

I enjoyed this link. I recently purged all my patterns from crafts to clothing and donated them. Don't think I will miss them but I did save a few of my favorites.

Simplicity has several new patterns based on vintage styles, perhaps a little more easily accessible?

I got one a week or two ago based on the 60's 3 armhole dress (wrap) I am excited to try. And it was even prettier style wise then the others I had found that were "vintage"

A wonderful find. Unfortunately, these beauties aren't seen as the treasures they are. So much work goes into making patterns. It is an art form under appreciated except by a very few.

I'm so glad you're enjoying these!

If you make any of them please post. I'd love to see your talent.

One thing to consider is the body SHAPE of people today compared to back then. Making a fitted pattern just might not work.
