CAROL.................jumping rope is bad on the knees and if you have a bad foot do you think jumping rope is such a great thing to do? .....please try pilates. It is not bulky stuff and hubby will enjoy it too.

If you watch biggest loser l have even seen players with a resistance band standing in their kitchen stretching it. It is so simple and you see results with about 2 weeks.

This is a great idea. Just want to remind people that dieting is a yo-yo affair. The only way to keep a healthy weight is to change your lifestyle to include regular exercise and to eat the right foods in the right quantity. Build some muscle-- it burns calories even while you sleep! 80% of our calories are burned by metabolism, rather than activity, so muscle is GOOD. Set aside time for your exercise and make it a habit. You deserve it and your families deserve to have you around for as long as possible!
I have only a pound or two of Christmas weight to lose (which will leave soon after the goodies are gone!) but I'd like to send a fat quarter to the winner anyway, as an "atta-girl" ! Or "atta-boy"!

yes, Cbridges aka Cindy you read it right......GRITS. and weren't YOU suppose to give me some grit recipes???????
Trupeach1, I'll take your cheese, and bacon. But I will have to pass on the grits. Instead, I enjoy butter-laden fresh veggies, with a side of two bratwurst.

I woke up to a start weight BELOW 250!!!! Woohoo! :D I'm now 249.8. What a way to start the New Year!
Oh now that is wonderful news!! Yay for you!!

Since getting down to 185 I have slacked off...............NOT anymore today is a new year and a new me. I WILL lose 30 lbs this year hopefully 30 but I am trying for 40.

    here goes

    weight............185
    waist.............39'
    hips..............42'
chest..............there isn't a tape measure big enough to measure those big girls. lol
Measuring was some of the best advice I took. When I wasn't losing weight at least I felt like I was making progress. I wish I had measured myself when I started. I would have liked to see the difference.

I'll try it. The reason for jumping rope, lots of calories burned, and I am so flabby from losing weight I need to build muscles in my arms and stomach. (The bike takes care of the legs, bottom and hips.)

The doctor recommended yoga, my daughter also recommended pilates. I have been trying arm exercises, including push-ups but they don't seem to be working.

I have looked on line for exercises. I can't afford to join a club at this time.

Will the bands help with the fly in your face arms. I have lost a lot of weight but I still can't wear sleeveless because the arms remain unattractive!

    :(
